House of Commons cultural definition

The lower house of the parliament of Britain. It includes representatives from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, all elected by the people. It is more powerful than the House of Lords, the upper house of parliament. The leader of the ruling party in the House of Commons is the prime minister of Britain; the prime minister chooses a cabinet composed mainly of members of the House of Commons.
