Ten tribes that were relocated to Assyria after the conquest of Israel in 722 b.c. Although their ultimate fate is unknown, the tribes have been identified with various peoples of Arabia and other areas of the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Japan, and England.
