Solzhenitsyn, Aleksandr cultural definition

A twentieth-century Russian author. His works include One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich and The Gulag Archipelago. Solzhenitsyn criticized the government of the former Soviet Union and lived outside the country for several years.
